I'm done buying Clarks pads .. Cheap yes, efficient, no. So far mines have been reliable, but after seeing that, it's like with superstar pads, no thanks Smile

Why didn't he warrantied the frame avec the first crack ? Even out of the warranty period, you should always try that.

Like it ! Is that a CCDB Air ? Just lacking some short cage derailleur and it would be perfect ! Smile

Yes, 6061 aluminium, but I don't know if the frame is damaged underneath or not .. I'll see the next time I change my headset (but did it about 8 months ago, and it doesn't show any sign or play/wear yet)

It is normal that they fall if you put the bike standing. They're not fixed into the frame, instead it's the baseplate of the headset that is holding it all together. Check Czlowiekzkili's link above. I have the same on my frame, it's stupid but that's how it works.

Very good explanation from Chris King there, and that explains why your frame seems to be damaged, while it just isn't. You need, sadly, an integrated headset. (I say sadly, but I had to have one in my frame too ..)

I hope the guy gave you the baseplate of the headset though ...

Are they both 2011 derailleurs ? Because it might be that the newer X9 is actually the older X0 (give or take a few differences here and there)

Well he could still try sanding slightly the stanchions (very fine sandpaper, if possible with oil) to smothen the surface. As long as there is no "deep" hole or pointing bits, it won't leak nor damage the seals.

But it doesn't look good indeed :/

I'd also recommend to add a few links on the chain ... it looks like if you go into the travel on the 1st cog of the cassette, it would break the chain ...

But yeah, if no warranty possible, weld it. It could last a couple of years Smile

Nah look, the stickers are still holding it together, some duct tape and let's ride ! It's got plenty of years of hard service after that fix Smile

(oh and some hammering on the rod on the left should straighten it)

"Vibration, you need he heavy duty discs in the rear or else it sounds like chewbacca when you brake."

The new HS1 are supposed to remove all the vibration stuff on the G3, so I really don't know why ...

Heat distribution, same thing, according to SRAM the new disc is better on that part ... Don't know about extra rigidity though
